EAG London Trade Show—The snow couldn't dampen our spirits. We embarked on our annual journey from the North West to England's vibrant capital city. The EAG is a thrilling show, always a highlight of our year; although, we do occasionally yearn for a Summer edition.
EAG is the UK's leading gaming and amusement machine show. It is held yearly in London at the Excel Centre. Below is a review of this year's show.
The show is mainly aimed at the gaming machine market and includes popular products such as fruit machines, pinball machines, arcade games, and, of course, our speciality - pool tables.
The show is not just about the latest products. It's a pivotal opportunity to connect with suppliers, customers, and gain a pulse on the industry's upcoming year. Your presence at the EAG is a testament to your commitment to the gaming and amusement machine market.
The turnout for the three-day show was surprisingly good, considering the adverse weather conditions in the capital. The second day was particularly busy, and the general reaction from exhibitors was a positive one.
From our perspective, we were grateful for the chance to reconnect with key suppliers, including Heywood Pool and Snooker (Supreme), SAM Leisure, Suzo Happ, E-Service, Sound Leisure, Valley-Dynamo, and BAPTO, the billiard and pool federation. Their presence and contributions are invaluable to the success of the EAG.
The great thing about the show is that suppliers and customers travel from all over the world. This allowed us to catch up and go out for dinner with our good friends at Simonis and Saluc (Aramith).
Although the show is much scaled-down compared to years gone by, it is still an important few days for the industry. It is an excellent showcase for many new and exciting products, and much business is still being done on the exhibitor's stands. The footfall may have been slightly down on last year due to the weather problems, but all the key players were still in attendance to make a successful show.
The Excel Centre is a purpose-built conference centre and makes an ideal venuefor the EAG Expo. It has plenty of space and amenities on site. However, it is a little out of the way and doesn't have the same nightlife or hustle and bustle that the previous shows held at Earls Court had.
It was, without doubt, the most positive show for some years, despite apparently having the odds stacked against it. The organisers must at least feel satisfied.
