Pool Cue Review

Twisted turtle handmade traditional pool cues by Ron Daniels.

Ron Daniels is quite a fantastic figure in the world of pool. He is the creator of some of the most striking cues on the market. Most pool cues designed by Ron are traditional and often simple but with his own added twist.

In this review, we feature one of those cues. This cue (as pictured below) has a classic two-tone green Irish Linen wrap, and double silver rings with Ivory dots. Ron then adds a beautiful combination of exotic woods (Brazilian Cheery and Spalted Eucalyptus) with a subtle laminated winding to create a truly gorgeous pool cue.

Twisted Turtle cues are protected by five coats of proprietary hand-polished, hard automotive-like synthetic lacquer finish, which provides UV protection and a mirror smooth and bright finish.

Interchangeable weight bolts are used in producing these cues even though they are all carefully weighted for maximum balance and control at the manufacturing stage. A high-impact solid rubber bumper is also used to protect the butt cap. A stainless steel joint pin is used. They are CNC machined, highly polished joints with a lifetime warranty. These cues have a high-impact phenolic ferrule and a 13mm layered laminated cue tip.

These patented manufactured cues are produced over many hours of careful planning and execution. Each cue is a truly handmade custom cue, and no two cues will ever be totally identical.

Ron himself is an interesting character. He is a member of the Mackinac bands of Chippewa and Ottawa Indians and a master woodworker, musician, and writer.
